The sessions are suitable for K-12, offering grade-appropriate strategies while modeling the "Nudging the Imagination" classroom workshops.

At the K-3 level, emphasis will be placed on pre-writing activities and collaborative story-writing, leading to the development of independent, enthusiastic writers in your classroom.

Brainstorming for ideas will be a major focus, as will the emphasis on "word pictures," writing with details and vivid descriptions. The session also will provide ideas on how to engage the students while including each student’s voice in the story, giving them all a sense of ownership in the project.

Along the way, you will be shown how to weave in any content area or content-specific vocabulary as well as how to reinforce the concept that writing is a process, with revision and editing coming up naturally during the classroom story creation in a stress-free, painless manner.

Follow-up ideas also will be discussed.

Modeling also will take place for classroom writing exercises for students in Grade 4-12. Workshops for students at these levels will include:

The length of these workshops can be tailored to fit your needs, from sessions that last one hour to full-day presentations. For information regarding fees and availability, please contact Steve.
